Caroline Marsland

“Originally from Cheshire, I moved to Brighton to pursue my lifelong interest in art. I completed an Honours Degree in Graphic Design and Illustration, however my love of painting took me in a different direction. My paintings are an exploration of rich colour, mood and light with a special interest in reflections. I paint and teach still life, portraiture and landscape, working in acrylic and building layers of paint to achieve a finish similar to that of oils without extended drying times and solvents.

I am happy working with all kinds of subject matter for exhibition purposes but particularly enjoy the challenges involved when working to specification on a commission. I have worked for clients both in the UK and Europe. To view more of my work, see website address below

I having been teaching children and adults for many years, both as individuals and in groups of up to thirty, including students studying to GCSE and Degree levels. My aim is to share my knowledge and techniques to assist students to find their own unique style and become inspired with their own creativity.”
